What does EFI mean?
EFI is a system that is used both in gasoline and diesel engines. There are many problems with the carburetor used for preparing the charge in the gasoline engines. MPFI, GDI, EFI all these fuels refer to the newer generation petrol injection systems. So nowadays older engines used simple fuel injection which replaced to overcome some of its shortcomings. The carburetor being a mechanical instrument device was just not fully capable of controlling an accurate air-fuel ratio to meet the growing demands for better emission control.
